do you care about global warming?

Shandi Wedge: I care about the warming of the planet. As for causation I believe it's a mixture of natural cycles coupled with certain lazy individuals who fail to use resources wisely. If we recycled and used energy resources wisely we would probably have a more healthy environment.

Margart Stimpert: The population will only grow to 10 billion by 2050 because of the starvation effects global warmIng is causing. One out of ever 7 people in the world, or a billion people are starving. This is the latest data. To start governments could actually try.

Patrica Loertscher: I take the bus and I reduced the heating.

Hans Sachetti: Since Earth's formation, its climate has never been static. Look back on some geological timelines - you'll find that it is either warming or cooling, and whether it's due to ocean or air currents, solar radiation, man's terrible activities or even Sasquatch, it's a simple fact of life on this rock.So no, I am not concerned at all. ! Humans have been blessed with the wonderful ability to adapt....Show more

Eli Trapeni: I do care about global warming so I try to be more environmentally friendly. I think it has happened so rapidly from the burning of fossil fuels.

Willa Holte: yes!recycle!

Otto Lingafelt: I NEED TO KNOW FOR MY PROJECT. THANKS!!!!

Ileen Oshell: Global warming is as natural as global cooling, but much nicer. The Earth will always warm or cool, the climate can never be the same each year.Climate change is as natural as a summer rain.

Cordia Fivecoat: Could not care less, I've got more important things to worry about.

Wally Gower: Number 1 Global warming is true. Dont listen toi these people they are misinformed. There is no evidence of anythinge lse but mas growing carbon dioxide which heats up the Earth like a greenhouse to explain Golbal Warming. Only 6 scientist disagree with Global waming out of alot here are some ways that population growth can be com! bated when it comes to Glibal Warming.1. Solar Powerd Cars.2. ! Mass Transit for urban centers.3. Mass Energy transport from future massive desert solar plants to homes everywere.4. Geothermal Energy transit from Ring ofd Fire areas to mass populated urban/suburban centers.5. Limits on how many children people can have.6. Global Warming/ Poplulation Growth Side effects Education.Note: I put some things that are in place but i also put in things that could be in place to help combate these two things.

Clare Hoard: Fact: Dont worry about global warming hurt the Earth to the point of no return dont be a hippie liberal. We have to have fun before the nuclear war and Jesus's return.

Dorine Nurre: There are many good Sci-Fi movies in the 1950's suggesting the end of time, I wonder what people will think of our Sci-Fi movies in the year 2059?I'm guessing in the 2050's, it will be back to Global Cooling...Geeze!

Shane Getler: i dont care about global warming. I DO care however about what the government might do to "Stop" it. If! we took ever car in the world off the road, shut down every factory, and forced everyone to return to a life of little house on the prarie days, it wouldn't make a dent. And even if it was, would it be worth all that to keep the tempature down 1 or 2 degrees over the next hundered or so years?

Jannette Kotz: That movie is about as realistic as Star Wars.

Antwan Schrum: please answer me i would like really thank you if you answer it

Darcie Peraha: The world is wiped out and life on earth ends due to an intense global cooling, then when all life is dead the earth gradually starts to defrost thanks to global warming. Great movie!!

Germaine Tieken: The film is based on the most sensational end of predictions. What it shows MIGHT happen, but if it does it won't be for thousands of years.I'm really waiting for the deniers reaction once "Age of Stupid" comes out http://www.ageofstupid.net/...Show more

Hwa Waterford: My paper is on population growth a! nd its affect on global warming. I need to know how population growth i! s being combated and appraoched to slow down global warming.

Jammie Taddei: I'd be interested to see what you come up with. While global warming is a very serious problem we face as a globe, the fundamental problem humans present is population. Even without global warming as an issue, humans are still decimating biota at a frightening rate and that is already a very serious problem by itself. So if you subtracted global warming, you'd still have the potential for a massive, sweeping die-off on the planet, anyway. Global warming, in that sense, is just a fun distraction to argue about. People get off on it. So do I, because it's technical and I am beginning to actually understand more about nature by way of understanding more about global warming. But when it comes right down to the nub of what we face ahead, the central issue is population. With or without global warming, we'd still be in dire straights soon enough. But if population were in control, then the global w! arming issue would be much less the concern because we could deal with it partly through managing population towards a goal of a billion or two.Population is NOT being "combated." Population is, so far, entirely a voluntary issue except perhaps for one country and I'm not entirely certain about its policies -- China. What is claimed is that if women have more options in their life (such as a professional career) and access to health care and birth control options (and if children don't die at high rates) then the birth rates tend to drop because of the choices women will then make. I've done no research on it, but you might see if it holds water. One would imagine that in countries where birth control is difficult to access or illegal, that the birth rate would be high. But Italy counters this idea with a very low birth rate and rather "Catholic" laws against birth control. So it seems that it is more a matter of educational access, to me -- or, at least, correlated with th! at if there is a different cause. No one knows (at least until you write! your report) a good way to control population. Voluntary won't work. Partly for a purely genetic argument. Those people with the genetics that permit them to consider lowering their numbers of children will reduce their birth rate by some margin. Those with the genetics making that choice unlikely, or in fact making their behaviors to increase their birthrate, will do that. I remember reading that even a slight difference, such as between 49% and 51%, of a genetic preference will in very few centuries cause the 51% genome to represent perhaps 99% of the total population. In other words, voluntary curtailment simply won't work and won't matter. The selected behaviors will compensate without any trouble at all. So this leaves ONLY the possibility of mandatory restrictions. But how? As a technical question, we have no clues about which genes to prefer and which not to. We don't even come close to knowing what they do, yet. Some "defects" are actually benefits against some kin! ds of diseases. Do we select those out and perhaps lose something that we'll wish we'd have preserved in the future? So forget the politics, forget the wars that would almost certainly happen, forget the religious battles.... we don't even have a clue what to preserve or what does what, as yet. That will be a long time coming. So it would have to be a random lottery of sorts. Good luck with that.We will run up against our petri dish just as surely as a bacteria would and will die out just as quickly. In the end, we are no smarter. ( Resource prices will rise, human value in hours worked will drop, and eventually it will cost more to keep a human alive here than their labor is worth. Simple math.)Best wishes on the paper. And if you come up with something you think is interesting to look at, feel free to send me a note. I probably would like some interesting news on the topic. Oh, and don't forget to read Garrett Hardin's paper from Science in 1968, Tragedy of the Commons.

Fannie Collingwood: Population is out of control globally, althoug! h for example, China with it's 1 child policy is at a replacement level. This means although they have a staggering population, The death and birth rate are close together.Education in reproductive healthcare and birth control availability are the best method to curb population growth. Education of women in general (in many countries this is not an option) has been shown to be a variable. This has been studied in India and it has been shown that educated women have fewer children. This compared to norther regions without education for women. They give birth at an earlier age and have more children than their educated neighbors to the south. Some African nations still have an average 5 and sometimes 7 children per woman. The sad part of this is that the infant mortality rate is very high there also. There are people starving in this world of ours, There is no reproductive health care available universally and women are denied education. the consensus is to feed the poor, provi! de both reproductive healthcare, education for women and nutritional foods for both mothers and babies.Youy can simply google population growth global warming and get a lot more info.

Claude Gloden: Global warming is upon us people! People don't realize that by using all of their hairsprays and stuff that release CFC's and that's killing our ozone layer! Global warming is something everyone should care about! I mean, don't you want your great-great-grand children to see polar bears and penguins and have a snowball fight? If things keep going the way they are, they will only dream of snow. Let them see snow!

Catheryn Small: Well you can't slow down global warming. It's 100% natural. So you desire for genocide are not needed.

Ruby Martis: Global warming and climate change are not 100% natural. Population growth is being controlled by health care cuts, the rising cost of healthy foods and GMOs. Nobody will say that and i doubt you will find much info on it b! ut that what they are doing. That sounds like a complex paper. Good luc! k!

Marcelina Schossow: Not at all.

Angelyn Ducas: If you have a kid you're just adding to population growth yourself. Have you been sterilized yet? Have you thought of killing yourself to slow down global warming for the greater good?I'm just kidding. Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming is a complete hoax so don't worry about it.

Norine Lomonte: Burn Fossil Fuel = Energy = Commercial Success = Increased GDP = Happy People = Nice Cars/Houses, Happy Grandchildren, etcDont Burn Fossil Fuel = No Energy = No Commercial Success = Diminished GDP = Unhappy People = Riots and possibly war and dead grandchildren

Rashad Marecki: I think you mean "The Day After Tomorrow", and that is a bad movie in every respect. Horrible acting and a plot that has no basis in scientific reality.

Marcellus Yoshimori: Man-made Global Warming is a HOAX. It is simply not happening. While it's true the planet has warmed a little over the last several decades, it was NOT! caused by human activity. It's the Sun that drives temperature and climate and people don't control the Sun.You should take time to watch the videos below, some of the world's top climate scientists appear and state without hesitation that man-made Global Warming is nonsense. The Great Global Warming Swindlehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaTJJCPYhlk

Dionna Doyel: No. I like it warm. The warmer it gets the more land can come under cultivation and the more liquid water is available, thus less hunger and lower prices.. TA DA. A simple fix

Nicolasa Henke: I care about global warming. If we don't do anything now, all the polar bears will die in Antartica. In the future the world will be a mess. All the chemicals from hairspray and cleaning suplies get and spread chemicals into the earth. It makes the thing that protects us from the sun get thinner. STOP GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!

Donnell Mollo: Nobody really knows what causes it. All we know i! s that it ( and global cooling ) has been going on for billions upon bi! llions of years.
