I need help with comic books?

Pattie Vold: Comic books in general come out weekly. A particular series (like Batman or Superman) will come out once a month.The advance dates on comic books is an old publishers trick. Publishers would put a date a month or two in advance to trick retailers to keep the books on the shelves longer. Comic books used to be sold like magazines. and were returnable to the publishers .You would really need to search comic book store to find who still has early issues of comic books you want. Scot Sepulbeda: My best advice for you is to go to your local comic book shop and talk to the people who run it. Tell them what you want to read and ask! where you should jump in at. They can show you the way and they may also have the back issues that you are looking for.

Cyndy Grimes: If your looking to collect to gain monetary value older books are better don't waste your time with modern books unless you love them. Ask a guy at a comic shop to guide you but buy your books on eBay so you know there was someone willing to pay $1 less than you at least till you know what you are doing

Cassondra Vanholland: You might also want to try looking up the books you want on Mile High Comics (milehighcomics.com), they have a huge database, and cover scans of a lot of the books, so that you can see if it is the issue you need. Be careful on collecting series', as sometimes a series will come out one year, as a mini-series, then be released as a new series the next year. So like, you would want to be careful, if you are collecting 1,2,3,4,etc., that all the books are from the same series. Have fun!...Show more

Susan Rambo: #1's are always hard to find after the series has been out for a while. You can win a bunch of #1's on http://marveldcforum.comThey are giving them away if you wanna avoid paying. Otherwise you should wait for a new series to start and follow it then. Much easier! Or ebay the #1 issues (starting issues).

Arlen Lopiccalo: The New 52 comics are monthly since comics these days are a lot longer than they used to be. The months in advance don't make sense, sorry.
