Basil Blasingame: It'll probably take around 15 minutes for your tattoo. The pain isn't too bad, especially on that part of your body since it's not a super thin area. I've heard lots of people say "cat scratch on sunburned skin", and I guess that's sort of true... Have you ever had your finger pricked? (like to draw blood) It feels like that over...and over... and over again. Don't worry though-- the area eventually becomes just tingly, and if your piece takes a long time then you sort of become numb. If you didn't like the guy, then I definitely wouldn't recommend you go to him. Lots of people are scared when they get their first tattoo! It's natural. Okay, in the sources I'll post a website to a local tattoo shop for me. Click on "Kaleidoscope Ink", then "Tattoo Aftercare" for, well, the aftercare! That's pretty much all you need to know....Show more
Willie Tun: Hey,I have two tattoos, one is very big on my back and the other is quite small on my lower back, Your! tattoo would honestly take about 15-25 minutes... colour doesnt take any longer than black.. Yes, it will hurt its needles of ink going in to you, but let me tell you its so worth it, tattoos are beautiful, the spot your getting yours shouldn't hurt too bad, but like i said, it will hurt. As for the tattoo artist, maybe look at some of his previous work, and then decide....Show more
Judie Kise: Getting a tattoo --- especially if youâre already nervous --- is a stressful experience as it isâ¦you donât need the added stress of not liking the person whose doing it. So youâre right in wanting to check elsewhere. The painâ¦I donât have a tattoo in that particular spot but I have one on the top of my footâ¦which was really really painful but not unbearable because I got moreâ¦and also got my foot re-done again. Your tattoo sounds like it will be small and shouldnât take that long --- maybe 20-40 minutes depending on what type of detail you have in it. This is! a super general time span because Iâm not a tattoo artist. ! And yes, it will take longer for the tattoo to be colored in as opposed to just a black outline. Theyâll do the outline first, then the color. As far as what to do before-handâ¦.I wouldnât bother with ice or trying to numb the area. For one thing, I think the pain is part of the experience of getting a tattoo. And for twoâ¦you can burn your skin with ice if itâs on too long and frankly the pain involved with holding an ice cube on your finger is probably going to be pretty comparable to the level of pain of the tattoo anyway. Just take a deep breath before they start and breathe consistently as they go alongâ¦itâs not that bad!Thereâs a lot of garbage info online about tattoos. Thereâs also lots of differing advice as well. Your best bet is to just find the right artist to do it. Donât be afraid of going to various shops and artist and talking with them to find whose right for you. This will be on your body foreverâ¦so itâs not out of line to do lots! of research. Just explain right from the start that itâs your first tattoo and you are nervous and want to do lots of research before getting it done. Any tattoo artists that scoffs at you for wanting to be informed or saying youâre scared should be avoided. Any good tattoo artist wants to give you the best experience they can and they should do everything in their power (within reason) to make you comfortableâ¦.and anyone you consider getting your tattoo from should be perfectly willing to answer ANY and ALL questions you have and even show you around the shop. Youâre going to want to make sure that you are comfortable with the actual artist doing the job (their artistic style, and personality) and the shop where you get it done (does it look clean, neat, organized?) Youâve already waited 45 years so another month or two of good research and question asking isnât going to hurtâ¦.good luck, and donât worry! As far as aftercare instructions...don't get those ! online or from friends, every tattoo artist has their own instructions ! for what they think works best and you should follow their instructions. Also, discuss the risks of getting a tattoo beforehand as well. That's actually a good question to start with if you feel like you meet an artist you like, "Explain to me some of the risks of getting a tattoo..." -- this will end up with them not only discussing the risks but discussing their shop or own personal protocol for avoiding the risks as much as possible which will include thier sanitation practices..etc. Which is good to know....Show more
Sherita Gallati: 15 to 20 minutes. And no it won't hurt like at all. Mainly just because your hand is exposed to so many things. And when you do get the tattoo I wouldn't go to that guy either. But the artist will give you a sheet of the things you can't do. And he will tell you what to do after you have gotten it. The information of how to properly care for a tattoo will be on the sheet he/she gives you. You will do fine. Good Luck!
