Heidy Fujikake: Which era are you interested in? The 50s? Go with pinks and grays, black and white tile floors. Search garage sales and thrift stores for old 45 records to decorate the walls. The 60s? Turquoise and lime green, bare brick walls, Boston ferns, beaded curtains, oriental area rugs, bentwood rockers, brass bed, black light posters. The 70s? Hot pink and orange. Sheepskin area rugs, platform bed, flower power walls. Try used bookstores to see if they have any old decorating books like Better Homes and Gardens guide to home decorating....they issue new ones every ten years or so and are gems if you want to study authentic retro looks....Show more

Cortez Badolato: I love black and white bedrooms! You could buy a plain white down or alternative comforter and buy tons and tons of all different black and white pillows! If you want it to look a little more retro, buy white accents that are very 70s looking. You could ! also add a little lime green! I am not the best decorator so I hope that you find something that works for you! I have been working on my br for 2 years and still can't get it right!
