Colby Millberg: Tax Act. All of the companies are just about the same. Tax Act gives you free federal, and I live in a state that has no income tax. (Property tax will kick your a** though)
Frances Macky: I would recommend turbo tax. But whichever one you choose, if you use the upgraded version make sure you pay you fees up front. Otherwise there will be a delay in receiving your refund because the IRS will DD into their account so they can deduct their fee, then you'll get the rest via DD. Avoid the middle man and pay the fee upfront!
Bernadette Roel: Actually, IRS.gov does not have their own tax e-file service. The IRS website just lists tax services that are offering free federal e-file as part of the Free File Alliance. Any service is just fine. Many allow you to "test drive" the program to see if you like it. As far as getting a bigger refund, it won't matter which one you use. Because if you enter all the information correctly, your refund will be the ! same. I've used Turbo Tax and Block's Tax Cut. Even though both are good programs, I like Tax Cut better. Also, you may have to pay extra for your state return if you file the same time as your federal. However, you should check with your state's Dept. of Revenue/Taxation to see if they offer free e-file....Show more
Neely Youngblut: irs.gov is free for federal taxes so are the others. But turbotax, hrblock, taxact etc can do your state also - and you just need to enter your data once.see here for reviews of the top online tax cos.http://www.tax-easy.com...Show more
