Palmira Lochridge: I play "row your boat" - you be attentive to the music, "row, row, row your boat gently down the pass... and so on." sit down inclusive of your infant mendacity down between your legs dealing with you, carry his/her hands and as you sing the music pull him/her in the direction of you as you rock backward. Rock backward and forward jointly as you sing the music, as long as your infant unearths it exciting. Cody Petrulis: My son is six months and I know that talking to him in a baby voice always gets him going, I also shake my head and babble and he laughs at that hysterically, I also read to him. Stacking blocks is a good one, he likes knocking it down and he is trying to crawl like everyday so I tend to try to build blocks just far enough out of his reach that he has to try and move to get to t! hem.
Buster Buchko: when my baby was 6months i would tickle her, introduce her toys to her. Such as the soft plush reading books, and stuffed animals, i would also crawl on the ground and chase her around. It encouraged her to crawl and explore. She also had one of those little mats, with the toys attatched to it, so she could lay there and look up at all the toys. I also read to her and taught her body parts, and sang songs to her. She like playing peek a boo too. Hope I've helped.

Veta Slicker: kids this age love animals - we visit the pet store sometimes or neighbors with petswalks, or even errands - all the lights and people at a storethey love knocking down, taking out, and taking off - so build block towers or towers of leftover containers for them to knock down. nesting cups are a! favorite here, and the stacking ring toy. I also put a bunch! of small blocks in a bowl, or a bunch of small toys in a purse, and she takes them out, over and over again, with evident delight. once they are crawling, put baskets with stuffed animals or shelves with board books in different places in the room and let them crawl around and take stuff out. You have to put it back, but they love it and can self-entertain for quite a while at this game. read books.....sing songs......put on music and dance....the obvoius thingsA jumper or jumperoo is a very popular toy at this ageplaying games like roll over or baby situps (lay on their back and let them grab your thumbs and pull up) are a lot of fun.toys that make noise for them to shake around, or when older, bang together - simple musical toys like a tamborine or a xylophone or a maracawhen they are pulling up, an activity table is a pricey but generally popluar and long-lasting toy - check out craig's list maybe?parks start to be fun when they can sit by themselves, the baby swings! esp.once they are sitting baths also get more fun - you can put in toys and leave the shower on a bit and its kind of like a baby waterpark. Going to the pool as well, if you have one locally that is easy to get to.when they are a bit older (like 8 months) they will enjoy having board books to turn the pages of and look at. My dd doesn't always want me to read to them but loves "reading" them to herself (after she has pulled them alll off the shelf, of course, lol).making faces in the mirror at each other is popular at this age as well - wave hi and bye to the baby int he mirror, put on funny hats or sunglasses, etcpeekaboo also comes into its own nwo - use a blanket to hide favorite toys, or yourself, or baby, then find them again. you can also put a toy in several bags/boxes and help baby find itonce your little one is eating solids, experimenting with finger foods is almost a game in itself. strip them down and let them have some different-textured foods to squish in ! their hands and try and pick up....Show more
