Why aren't amusement parks making money these days?...?

Bryant Pillitteri: video games, economy, bad :(

Donita Desjardin: as james carville opined famously, prior to the presidential election in 1992, "it's the economy, stupid". carville was referring to then president bush, the first. when times are a bit grim, people tend to cut discretionary spending, in case they come up short for something they genuinely need.

Giovanni Malool: placed some skills to apply. in case you are able to mow a backyard, accomplish that on your friends. If it really is not an selection, attempt to babysit. or think ofyou've got a stand of a few form. (lemonade...even even though it really is not too warm round this time. possibly you would possibly want to promote some thing else. only verify you do not choose a let of a few form.) you would possibly want to promote some belongings you do not use anymore. yet i does not advise to promote to a keep (gamestop, etc) they oftentimes pay extraordinarily. you are able to ask your friends if ! there is a few thing they could use help with. (see you later as you're in a secure community) I certain you'll locate some thing!! have relaxing at Elitch gardens!...Show more

Kalyn Proietto: A park that closes forever isn't always doomed because it's not making any money. Sometimes it's a business decision, sometimes a new owner takes over and chooses to do something else with the property, sometimes contract expirations or other stipulations come to term and no other kind of agreement is made. And sometimes, honest details are not publicly acknowledged, like "this park really made a lot of money for us but we're so broke and my job is in danger, I need to satisfy some stock holders by making a quick buck."The only decline I see is in attendance, which doesn't equal monetary decline. Six Flags just reported being "cash flow positive" for the first time in it's history while a billion-dollar debt sits on it's shoulders and investors continue to think bankruptcy is i! n it's near future....Show more

Tillie Wynott: What ... ! it is to expensive for people to go .. the price of gas just went down but a lot of people have lost there homes / jobs due to the recent financial collapse... I think that's the reason why the aren't doing so hot

Wally Gower: I guess people just are not amused anymore by them. There is a general air of doom and gloom about anyway. The last place I want to go is an amusement park.

Ismael Sixon: Well economy isn't all the reason b/c even 10 years ago when it was all good there was still a decline.

Raye Tredennick: Although you said economy isn't all the reason, right now it's plummeting more.Ticket prices are going up, too. Disneyland tickets are higher prices than they were a few years ago. Plus, as you said before, people get bored with rides, don't care for the location, or just don't like some parks.
