Ideas for a new hobby? Cheap!?

Malcom Bourek: There are tons of things you can do,collect stamps, collect vitimin water paper on the outside of the bottle (haha i know people who do) a lot of things, i'm sure you'll comeup with something (:

Timmy Bustard: prestamped cross stitching

Karl Samiec: Drink!

Elvin Weichbrodt: i read books. i'm not sure what you mean by cheap, but the books i read are about 5-10 dollars a piece. maybe you can try that.

Lester Haschke: crochet...

Adan Stribble: That's a hard question to answer for someone else, especially since you haven't really given any details of what kinds of things you like or are good at.Things I have tried that are only as expensive as you choose to make them:Candles makingSoap makingStamping/scrapbookingMacramé Dream CatchersCrochetingJewelry and hair clips (this can get pricey, depending on what materials you use)Tie-dye or Batik (using cloth dye and clear paraffin wax to make interesting multi color crackly designs on c! lothes or wall hangings)To amend what someone else said about reading, I have recently rediscovered my local library, they have lots of books on hobbies - for free! My library also has new release movies to check out which is also a budgetary bonus! My current "hobby" is cooking.I just use my regular grocery budget and add in one or two items each time, and I just use the dishes/pots/pans that I have around the house (or can pick up at a garage sale) - I and my family are enjoying my experimentations and I almost always get compliments on my creations, which is a nice little ego boost :)...Show more

Boris Hadsall: Bookbinding/journal making is cheap and easy. Most items are already found in the home. Here are a few sites to different variations.http://curiouslycrafty.wordpress.com/tutorials/http://photojojo.com/content/diy/make-your-own-pho...How about knitting? Can't knit..try loom knitting. It is easy and the start up costs are minimal.Really the possibilities are en! dless as far as cheap hobbies go.http://www.craftster.com...Sh! ow more

Kaylee Schmittou: Crochet is the best thing. Buy a hook, a ball of yarn. All less than 5.00 and make hats for charity. Check out online learning to crochet sites like http://www.nexstitch.com. In less than a month you're mobile with your new craft.

Randa Hessell: Maybe you could make calenders? Take those pictures and maybe some others, or also take some photos of shots special to the three of you, and put them 2009 calenders. But also do something with the months themselves, marking birthdays or other significant dates or just put in cool /fun stuff in some days. That's all I got off the top of my head.
